Take the plunge - April 28th

Sometimes it's best to just take the plunge.

There are a lot of lessons that can be learned from the ocean. Today it was really cold where we were. It was almost unbearable as I waded in up to my waist. After a few minutes at that level it almost felt like my legs were going numb. So I finally decided to take the plunge.

As I dove under a wave I felt as if there were a million spikes hitting my body, but by the time I came up for a breath of air, it was fine. Taking the plunge helped me to get over my fear and realize that reality was not what I thought it was. Fear has sometimes been described as False Expectations Appearing Real. I had false expectations that the water would always feel like ice. Reality was that once I took the plunge, it wasn't so bad. My body temperature equalized and I was able to enjoy my day at the beach.

What are you waiting to do? Is there something that you have been wading in without fully committing? Take the plunge.

Lesson learned: realize that not all expectations are real and take the plunge.
