Cooking - May 17th

Today I learned how to make a Georgia Cheese ball.

I'm sorry, I won't be sharing the recipe today because I did not ask permission from the person who shared it with me. I will say that I decided to try this recipe because I had it on Wednesday and it was Awesome! And I'll say that this recipe called for mixing by hand.

I don't do a whole lot of cooking (though I used to dabble a lot as a teenager). Part of the reason I think I am afraid to cook now is from fear of letting my hands touch the food. Weird, I know. I'm not sure if this has been because I'm afraid to get my hands dirty, or because I'm afraid of passing germs to the food, or what. I do know that today I took the plunge and used my hands to mix the cheese ball, and I think it turned out ok.

Tomorrow I'll be sharing my creation at my team leaders meeting that I've been planning for over a month. We'll see how my creation goes over there. It was fun to create something and great to try something new.

Lesson learned: don't be afraid to use your hands when preparing food. And don't be afraid to try new things. Oh yeah, and I learned how to make a Georgia cheese ball ;-)

Update:
Overnight I received permission to share the cheese ball recipe.
Enjoy :-)

GEORGIA CHEESE RING
Need: 2 cups of grated finely sharp cheddar cheese

cayenne pepper to your taste ( not more than dash or 2)

Mix with your hands until thoroughly mixed. With your hands, form into a ring. Sprinkle LIGHTLY with cheyenne pepper for color. Fill center with cold Strawberry jam and surround with Waverly wafers or Club Crackers.
