Macbooks and Koolaid Part 2 - June 8

About a month ago I posted about my incident with MacBooks and koolaid.
Today is part two of that saga. Um, don't worry... I didn't spill koolaid on another macbook (that lesson has been learned and hopefully never to be repeated. There was a little residual from the incident that we encountered tonight though.

It turns out that there was one of my wife's DVDs still in the dead macbook. A friend of ours wanted to borrow this particular DVD and when we started looking for it, I realized where it was. Salt on the wound as I realized the DVD was stuck in the dead macbook.

Well, gallant husband that I am, I said that I would get it out.

21 tiny screws later, this is what our macbook looked like:
My Macbook computer opened up so you can see the insides.
koolaid and macbooks don't mix
The good news is that I was able to get the DVD out and got it to our friend.

P.S. If anyone would like to donate to our lost macbook replacement, I'll be happy to sell the old parts of the koolaid macbook. They make nice paperweights and would be good conversation starters for you too. :-)

Oh yeah, and make sure you back up your information. Fortunately, I used the Mac TimeMachine app to backup regularly to an external hard drive.WD My Passport 1TB Portable External Hard Drive Storage USB 3.0 Blue (Amazon Associate Link) This was a life saver for us and could be for you as well... don't forget to backup.

Lesson Learned: If you're going to spill koolaid on a macbook make sure you have taken the DVDs out and backed up your information first. (If you forget, you'll have to totally tear up your very expensive paperweight of a macbook to get to the $15 DVD)
